Church Links

Garton on the Wolds CE (VC) Primary School prides itself on its close links with St Michael and All Angels Church. Children visit the church, a stunning 12th century building, on a weekly basis for collective worship. Pupils also participate in many festivals at St Michael and All Angels, including our Easter and Christmas services.

We are part of the Diocese of York, which is a family of 607 churches and 127 schools in 470 parishes. The Diocese is led and guided in its Christian faith and work by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu.

As a church school, the following Christian values underpin everything we do:

  • Hope
  • Respect
  • Friendship
  • Forgiveness
  • Perseverance
  • Thankfulness
  • Tolerance

REAction Day at Beverley Minster, November 2018

Year 5 & 6 pupils took part in REAction at Beverley Minster as part of their RE studies linked to ‘Justice & Freedom’. Children learned more about how Beverley Minster was used as a place of sanctuary in the past and how it continues to be a place of safety for modern-day refugees.
