Our school works in partnership with the church and the wider community to give a caring and nurturing environment. Together we enable and equip everyone to have life to the full as Jesus promised. This vision is underpinned by the values of hope, friendship, respect, forgiveness, perseverance, tolerance and thankfulness.

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10 v.10)

We will realise our Vision through the following aims:

Our Values

Our Values are at the heart of our school vision and are illustrated in the Cross and shared with children on a regular basis, in Collective Worship and reinforced through our teaching and every day school life.

We established these in collaboration within our school community.

Our values can be said to be ‘Human Values’ and inclusive for all. As a Church of England school, however, we have rooted these Values in our Christian beliefs and in stories from the Bible making it particularly memorable for children.

Christian Values

Friendship - John 15.15: ‘I no longer call you servants’, said Jesus.......... ‘Instead I have called you friends.’

Thankfulness -  Luke 22.19: Jesus broke bread and gave thanks.

Hope - For I know the plans Ihave for your life, plans to give you hope.’  Jeremiah Chapter 29 verse 11

Respect - Matthew 7:12 Jesus taught us to respect all, ‘whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophet’. 

Forgiveness - Jesus taught us to ‘love one another’. John 3-11, 24, ‘A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another, during the last supper. Jesus taught us to forgive. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23-24

Perseverance – The disciples persevered to spread the word of Jesus after his death. Deuteronomy 13.6: The Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.

Tolerance – Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that you be not judged. When Jesus spoke these words on the slopes surrounding the Sea of Galilee, He wasn’t saying never to judge. He simply warned about doing it the wrong way—by telling us how to make judgments the right way.
