Welcome Class 1!
Summer Activities
Dear Class 1,
I am very excited to introduce our new topic for the Autumn Term – Farms! I know you will know so much about Farms already and it will be a lovely way to start the new academic year. The new topic will focus on a different book relating to farms/farming each week and our activities will be based around the book. This will lead us into learning all about Harvest too.
Over the summer holiday, it would be wonderful if you could find out a little bit of information ready for our new theme.
Here are some activities you could try with your family:
- Visit a farm – Playdale Farm is an excellent one to visit. Don’t forget to take plenty of photos!
- Build your own farm, you could use Lego or old cereal boxes to create your farm.
- Make a collage of a farm.
- Paint farm animals.
- Learn about the different tractors or farming machinery. – draw/label the tractors.
- Learn about farm animals and their babies. What do they like to eat? Where do they like to live?
I look forward to seeing and hearing about what you found out when you return to school on Tuesday 8th September. It would be lovely to see all your work when we return to school as I would like to make a classroom display with all your wonderful work.
Have a wonderful summer!
Miss Fox
