Dear Class 2,

I am really looking forward to the Autumn term, as not only will I get to know you better, but because our topic in class is brilliant too.  It is ‘Kings, Queens and Castles’. How exciting!

During the summer holiday it would be fantastic if you, along with your family, could find out some information for our new theme.  

You might like to:

• Visit a castle or look at pictures of castles online.  Maybe you could find out who lived in the castle and what the different parts of a castle were called?   
• Build your own model of a castle you could use Lego or any other recycled materials. 
• Find out about the Knights who often lived and worked in these castles.  What did the wear?  What did they do? 
• Make a Knight’s shield or helmet. 
• Write a story about a castle and the characters who lived there. 

Don’t forget to bring anything that you have made or written into class, as I am looking forward to seeing and hearing about everything that you have done. 

Meanwhile, have a wonderful summer holiday and I’ll be excited to see you on Tuesday 8^th September.
