Charity Work
We support several charities. Each class has adopted a charity and works to raise awareness and funds. We also take part in annual and bi-annual national charitable events, such as Comic Relief, Fairtrade Fortnight and Children in Need.
- Class 1 supports Macmillan Cancer Support
- Class 2 supports Help for Heroes
- Class 3 supports the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)
- Class 4 supports Guide Dogs
- Class 5 supports BagBooks
Class 1's charity: MacMillan Cancer Support
Class 1's charity is ‘Macmillian’. Class 1 pupils hold a coffee morning every year where children are actively involved. The children write invitations, bake produce and help sell the buns along with washing the pots too! The children thoroughly enjoy this ‘hands on’ experience, which teaches them empathy skills along with understanding that we are able to help others.
Class 2's charity: Help for Heroes
Class 2 has adopted Help for Heroes as its class charity. The class has given an assembly to inform the whole school about the work of Help for Heroes. Volunteers from the charity have also visited the school to talk to pupils.
Class 5's charity: BagBooks
BagBooks provides multisensory books for people with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities. Class 5 pupils collect items for the charity to use in their multisensory books.
